AXSYS TECHNOLOGIES INTRODUCES HIGH-PERFORMANCE POSITIONERS

ROCKY HILL, CT - February 12, 2007 - Axsys Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ:AXYS), a global leader in the design, manufacture and distribution of precision optical and motion control solutions, today announced the introduction of two new precision pan and tilt devices, the APS-50 and APS-100. These products set a new industry standard in supporting and positioning the latest high-tech surveillance sensors such as infrared cameras, conventional cameras and laser rangefinders.

The new products have several unique benefits:

• Ultra-fast 300º per second rotation in both axes
• Continuous rotation in the vertical axis
• Zero backlash due to the gearless design
• 0.005º resolution, which is less than the width of a small car at a range of 10 miles (16 km)
• Payload capacity up to 100 lbs (46 kg)
• Ruggedized construction for reliable operation in extreme environments

Axsys was able to achieve these performance standards by leveraging its 40 years of experience building brushless torque motors and high accuracy resolvers to military specifications. The positioners are suitable for various applications including border surveillance, force protection programs, homeland security and critical infrastructure surveillance.
