Axsys is a leading supplier of high-performance optical solutions to industries with the most stringent optical requirements. Applications include military targeting, navigation, surveillance, astronomical research, and medical imaging. Many of these applications require optical solutions outside of the visual spectrum, and Axsys' satisfies these requirements with its extensive experience in the production of ultraviolet, visual, and infrared optics.
Due to the demanding nature of the applications that we serve, Axsys' optical production process is extremely comprehensive. Axsys offers complete systems design and design verification services in addition to state-of-the-art production and testing. Axsys optical solutions are manufactured with state-of-the-art diamond machining, planetary polishing and conventional hand polishing processes. In addition, geometrical and diffraction-based optical performance analyses are conducted on all of our optical products.
Importantly, Axsys is increasingly delivering solutions that require both our optical and motion control capabilities. Sophisticated thermal zoom lenses, stabilized optical platforms, and marker engines are only a few of the examples of the vertically integrated solutions we have designed and produced for our customers.

Laser Scanning and Steering
Axsys has long been recognized as the leader in producing high performance optical laser scanning devices. Our precision optical and mechanical manufacturing capabilities, combined with our electronic control technology, enable us to produce high performance air-bearing scanner products.
In addition, Axsys produces both closed-loop nodding and fast steering mirror systems. Designed in both bearing or flexure mounted configurations, our single-axis and two-axis mirror systems offer a compact, low cost, high performance design solution for a variety of emerging optical scanning and beam stabilization applications.

Reflective Metal Optics
Axsys specializes in the manufacture of aspheric and plano metal optics that are significantly enhanced for optical figure and finish by post polishing. Our comprehensive manufacturing capabilities include diamond machining, planetary lapping, conventional polishing, and interferometric testing. This breadth of offering enables Axsys to offer its customers flexibility in design and confidence in product quality.

Transmissive Optics
Axsys provides complete design, fabrication and test services of germanium, silicon, zinc selanide, calcium floride, cleartran, AMTIR, Zerodur, optical glasses and other materials. Our production process is comprehensive, including grinding, polishing, diamond turning, coating, and interferometric and profilimetric testing. In addition, Axsys engineers work closely with our customers to explore all manufacturing tradeoffs in order to maximize product quality and minimize cost.
