Axsys produces high performance torque and servo motors, resolvers and synchros, direct drive assemblies and electronic controls providing extremely high power density and precision.
In addition, we combine these capabilities into integrated systems such as multi-axis gimbals, positioning stages, and scanning engines.
Axsys' motors incorporate rare earth magnets with outer diameters ranging from 0.5" to 48" and provide peak torques up to 1,650 ft-lbs. Resolvers are either single or multi-speed (up to 64-speed), with outer diameters ranging from 0.7" to 15", and provide accuracy to 5 arc seconds. Applications for these products include positioning scan mirrors, IR cameras as well as deployment of solar panels.
Importantly, Axsys is increasingly delivering solutions that require both our optical and motion control capabilities. Sophisticated thermal zoom lenses, stabilized optical platforms, and marker engines are but a few examples of the vertically integrated solutions we have designed and produced for our customers.
