Laser Scanning

Axsys has long been recognized as the leader in producing high performance optical laser scanning devices.  Our precision optical and mechanical manufacturing capabilities, combined with our electronic control technology enable us to produce high performance air-bearing scanner products.  We have achieved these levels by employing finite element analysis to evaluate stress and deformation for the optimal structural design of our products. Many of these systems must withstand the rigors of shock, vibration and temperature variation. Environmental stress screening is conducted on our in-house test equipment. Combining the source of supply for critical components with an extensive background addressing some of the most demanding laser scanning requirements, Axsys offers low risk solutions for the customer developing the next generation of laser scanning equipment.

Laser Steering

Designed in both bearing or flexure mounted configurations, the single-axis and two-axis, mirror systems are a compact, low cost, high performance design solution for a variety of emerging optical scanning and beam stabilization applications.  Such devices are used to correct for polygon cross scan errors in prepress photography, acquire and lock beams within free space laser telecom systems, modulate tilt and cavity control in interferometers, maintain beam stabilization in the presence of thermal drift and vibration, and provide general two axis beam scanning.
