How to Specify a Laser Interferometer System
Axsys Technologies is a pioneer in the field of distance-measuring laser interferometry. Since 1979, Axsys has designed and manufactured thousands of interferometers for the world's largest corporations. Our laser interferometers are primarily used as feedback elements in state-of-art servo motion control systems. A laser interferometer system consists of four building blocks:

  • Helium-Neon (He-Ne) Laser Source
  • Interferometer/Receiver Module
  • Retroreflector Flat Mirror Target
  • Optical Beam Bending and Beam Splitting Modules

In order to provide the greatest possible flexibility for integration into OEM equipment, these elements can be combined in a large number of combinations. Sample configurations for single-axis systems are shown below.
