We develop unbiased and open architecture systems through a blend of state-of-the-art technologies and commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) middleware solutions. Our open computing infrastructure (OPEN CI) is a flexible information technology backbone that adheres to industry standards and published interfaces. OPEN CI is fully scalable and transferable to multiple program environments. It provides a flexible and adaptable command and control infrastructure capable of hosting a wide array of available weapons, sensors, and combat system applications. This infrastructure is built on state-of-the art commercial processors, commercial middleware, a published data model, and a display architecture that facilitates “any display, anywhere” capability. This approach yields fast, flexible alternatives that facilitate interoperability and support today’s network-centric warfare vision.
