Optics
Axsys produces some of the finest optical surfaces for applications requiring extreme figure accuracy and low scatter. We also offer infrared lenses and mirror components and transmissive and reflective assemblies, which are often used with thermal imaging cameras. Offering customers design verification and complete system design services, we routinely conduct geometrical and diffraction-based optical performance analysis of new and existing designs, as well as design and tolerance complete optical systems and components for UV, visible and IR applications.
Axsys produces plano and aspheric optical components and assemblies utilizing state-of-the-art diamond machining, planetary polishing and conventional hand polishing processes. Assemblies include large area tracking and scanning mirrors, telescopes, thermal imagers and many other imaging sensors requiring light weight reflective and transmissive optics.

Motion Control
Axsys is a leading provider of vertically integrated, highly precise motion control systems. Precision Machining
Axsys is the world's leading supplier of ultra-precision machined components and structures principally fabricated from beryllium, its alloys and other exotic and conventional materials. Axsys machines these materials utilizing sophisticated CNC Machining Center, Turning Centers, Grinding and EDM machines. Axsys also completes secondary operations such as lapping, ion milling, plasma coating, plating, etching and anodizing in-house. Axsys utilizes these capabilities to produce exacting component geometries processed to within 10 millionths of an inch tolerance. Applications include gimbals, heat sinks, light-weight satellite structures and optical substrates.
