Pan and Tilt Gimbals

Axsys pan and tilt gimbals are generally used to position sensors or mirrors to track objects with high precision.

Accuracy: Up to 30 arc-seconds (0.008° or 150 µrad)
Repeatability:Up to 10 arc-seconds (0.003° or 50 µrad)
Payload Capacity: Up to 100 lbs (45 kg)
Slew Rate:Up to 60 radians per second (570 rpm)
Acceleration:2,000 rad/s2
Tracking Rate:Up to 100 microradians per second (0.006°/s)
Vibration:Up to 10 grms random
Temperature: -40°C to +90°C

This imaging infrared seeker gimbal was designed for a tactical missile. Each axis is accurate to 30 arc-seconds and achieves velocities of up to 50 degrees per second. This pan and tilt system can support a 100 pound (45 kg) payload, rotate at 300 degrees per second in both axes, has a 0.005° resolution, and features zero backlash operation.

Axsys scanning systems are used for imaging or to redirect a laser beam at high speed.

Axsys Laser Scanning Modules (LSM): This laser scanning module features a high performance air-bearing polygon scanner in a sealed chamber to minimize contamination, noise, and air turbulence.
