Description:

Axsys Technologies, a public company with sales of $200M and multiple operating divisions located throughout the US, manufactures and sells a broad range of high performance electro-mechanical and electro-optical components and sub-assemblies to the aerospace, defense, electronics capital equipment, graphic arts and medical imaging markets. We presently have a need for a Program Manager for our Rochester Hills, MI location.

The candidate will work with program engineers as well as different departments within the organization to manage customer expectations, design configuration, material acquisition, and manufacturing for individual programs. In addition, the candidate will be expected to review contracts, contribute to proposal effort and be responsible for program prompt delivery and cost goals.

Qualifications:

• US Citizen
• BS or MS in Mechanical or Optical Engineering
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project.
• Strong understanding of office organization and the ability to understand our overall quality philosophy and the impact it has on the organization.
• Minimum of 5 years of industry experience in an opto-mechanical or electro-optical hardware organization.
• Proven Program Management skills
• Ability to interface and address customer needs and wants
• Contracts review experience desirable
• Ability to manage program budgets
• Excellent communication skills, solid planning/time management skills and the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
• Knowledge of ITAR and Export Compliance desirable.
• Opto-mechanical design background encompassing CAD design processes and use of GD&T is desirable.
• Knowledge of optical metrology and optical assembly is desirable.
