Description:

Axsys Technologies, a public company with sales of $200M and multiple operating divisions located throughout the US, manufactures and sells a broad range of high performance electro-mechanical and electro-optical components and sub-assemblies to the aerospace, defense, electronics capital equipment, graphic arts and medical imaging markets. We presently have a need for a Network Technician for our Rochester Hills, MI location.

The purpose of this position is to support the on-site technology that allows the Rochester Hills organization to effectively communicate internally and externally.

The qualifications for this position include:

• Windows environment network administration skills (Active Directory, Windows 98/2000/XP/2003, Outlook/Exchange, Office products etc)
• Ability to assemble and troubleshoot computer hardware
• Ability to perform basic LAN and PC support
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills
• Ability to interact with all levels throughout the organization Excellent communication skills, solid organization/planning skills
• The ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• The ability to be extremely flexible with work schedule

Additional qualifications for this position include:

• Programming skills (Visual Basic/VBA, Javascript, PHP)
• PBX administration (move/add/change requests)
• Exposure to Sarbannes-Oxley
• Familiarity with ITAR regulations

The essential functions of this job include:

• Selects and installs IT equipment
• Maintains the organization's computer network, including configuration of servers and terminals
• Manages performance and security of network
• Troubleshoots network and hardware issues
• Installs all workstations/server/network software
• Provides training on computer operation procedures
• Provides technical assistance to all departments
• Provides on-site PBX support
• Maintains the ERP system (database maintenance, patches, upgrades)
• Provides programming support (Visual Basic for various engineering applications, Basic programming for ERP, custom reports, etc.)
• Interfaces with software/services vendors as needed
• Other duties (graphics, create product datasheets, etc.)
