Description:
Axsys Technologies, a $200M public company, with multiple operating divisions located throughout the US, manufactures and sells a broad range of high performance electro-mechanical and electro-optical components and sub-assemblies to the aerospace, defense, electronics capital equipment, graphic arts and medical-imaging markets. Our IR Systems division in Nashua, NH produces precision infrared and visible optical components for use in high-end military and commercial applications

Basic Function
This position is responsible for the support to Operations of the assembly and test of camera and optical assemblies and systems for commercial, aerospace, defense and scientific research.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

• Support the production floor by providing the necessary tooling/fixturing/equipment and analysis of design for assembly to accurately and repeatedly assemble and test products.
• Support the material management process from initial design through supplier selection through discrepant material evaluation and root cause analysis
• Assist in preparing manufacturing assembly/test procedures.
• May provide conceptual design input for new products and may provide recommendations to modify existing products for manufacturability
• Provide assistance in troubleshooting technical design problems
• Perform other duties as assigned by management

Education,Training:
Requires a BS in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology or equivalent experience.

Experience:
Production floor support experience plus 10 plus years related experience.
