Description:
Axsys Technologies, a $200M public company, with multiple operating divisions located throughout the US, manufactures and sells a broad range of high performance electro-mechanical and electro-optical components and sub-assemblies to the aerospace, defense, electronics capital equipment, graphic arts and medical-imaging markets. Our IR Systems division in Nashua, NH produces precision infrared and visible optical components for use in high-end military and commercial applications

Basic Function
This position manages established program to including development and sustaining efforts. Interfaces directly with the customer, coordinates and manages efforts of the internal staff and participates in new business development.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

• Daily interaction with the established customers
• Independently lead the program team, guided by company policies
• Responsible for program decisions that affect the success of the programs
• Lead the engineering and functional teams in the development of program schedules and the successful achievement of program milestones
• Leads the development of new proposals and ECP proposals to include establishing cost targets, schedule targets, cost allocations, basis of estimate, technical and management volumes and cost volumes
• Works directly with colleagues to ensure negotiations are completed rapidly and fairly
• Represents the program to senior management through status briefings, program reviews and operations reviews

Education,Training:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering and/or Program Management preferred.

Experience:
A strong background in program management of DOD programs, including managing multiple programs from proposal through manufacturing stages, and including some experience with electro-optic programs. A technical background with electro-optics and/or executive management experience on military programs is preferred.
