Description:
Axsys Technologies, a $200M public company, with multiple operating divisions located throughout the US, manufactures and sells a broad range of high performance electro-mechanical and electro-optical components and sub-assemblies to the aerospace, defense, electronics capital equipment, graphic arts and medical-imaging markets. Our IR Systems division in Nashua, NH produces precision infrared and visible optical components for use in high-end military and commercial applications

Basic Function
Operate and maintain multiple chambers, minor troubleshooting of chambers, operation of spectrophotometers, and to aid other techs.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

• Familiar with more than one chambers' operation.
• Familiar with Lilly database/bar code system.
• Set up the vacuum chamber for the required processes.
• Select the appropriate substrate tooling for the optics to be coated.
• Inspect and clean substrates larger than 3” in diameter prior to coating to include the required witness samples. (greater than 95% acceptance rate after coating)
• Familiar with scratch/dig standards.
• Follow work direction with little supervision.
• Set up the vacuum chamber for the required processes and load the optics.
• Monitor the systems controllers and gauges for proper operation.
• Monitor and record all the parameters essential to the process.
• Unload optics and set chambers up to the next process.
• Familiar with basic chamber maintenance. (Maintain oil level in mech. Pump, change oil in mech. Pump, etc).
• Keep a maintenance log for each coating system.
• Perform periodic cleaning of vacuum chamber with little to no supervision. To include E-gun and the emitter assembly (disassembly/reassembly).
• Be able to operate spectrophotometer by reflection or transmission. Determine compliance with optical coating specification on current work order. Know the use of abrasion test equipment.
• Familiar with the use of verniers.
• Maintain a clean work area.

Education,Training:
High school diploma

Experience:
5+ years operator experience
