Description:
Axsys Technologies, a $200M public company, with multiple operating divisions located throughout the US, manufactures and sells a broad range of high performance electro-mechanical and electro-optical components and sub-assemblies to the aerospace, defense, electronics capital equipment, graphic arts and medical-imaging markets.

We presently have the following position for a Controls System Engineer IV at our Grass Valley, CA location.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
As a Controls System Engineer IV, the selected candidate will be responsible for system development of inertial stabilization control systems. Active optical, mechanical, and electronic control loop development. Extensive sensor research and development. Sensor integration into highly stabilized platforms. Complete system design documentation development. Leads and directs the work of others.

Qualifications:
Minimum requirements: Bachelor's degree (EE, ME or equivalent) with a minimum of 10 years experience in the field or in a related area.

Experience:
Developed a minimum of one successful product to completion. Hands on experience with stabilized camera systems. A strong mechanical, electrical, and structural background is required. Has mechanical background to aid the research and development process with regards to structural integrity and how it affects stabilization. Familiar with ISO engineering documentation procedures.
